PVC tubes - closed profiles for joinery

A PVC tube is a closed profile with a rectangular or square section in rigid plastic. In joinery it is used where stiffness without corrosion is needed. We carry four sections: 40 x 35 mm and 90 x 50 mm with a 3 mm wall, the square KS profile 50 x 50 mm with a 3 mm wall, and 60 x 40 mm. All in 6 metre lengths. The material cuts with a hacksaw and needs no edge protection.

As reinforcement the profiles stiffen cladding where a panel or trim on its own would flex - across a wide reveal or a long run of casing. As covering they conceal cables and services run beside the window, giving a closed, smooth surface that can be wrapped or painted. As structural members they form a simple frame behind the cladding - and here the advantage over metal is obvious: PVC does not corrode, so it also suits damp locations and external work.

The choice is a question of span and of the direction of load. For short runs 40 x 35 mm is enough. For longer or loaded ones you reach for 90 x 50 mm with internal ribbing, which gives the greatest stiffness without adding weight. The square KS 50 x 50 mm has equal stiffness in both axes, so it suits places where the load can come from various directions. The 60 x 40 mm section is the middle option, distinctly stiffer in one axis.

We hand goods over during the week, but the collection time is agreed individually - including on a Saturday and, if need be, a Sunday, arranged by phone beforehand. With tubes it is worth planning ahead: 6 metre lengths need suitable transport. Orders for weekend collection should be placed by Friday 12:00 at the latest. We ship throughout Poland.
