Hollow-chamber PVC trims - 7, 15, 16, 22 and 35 mm

Rigid PVC profiles with a rectangular section and internal air chambers. With and without a lip, with and without foam tape, white and wrapped in Renolit foil. Length 6 m.

The chambered construction gives stiffness at low weight - the trim does not sag over a long run, yet still cuts with an ordinary saw. The version with a lip has a turned-up edge that hides small irregularities in the plaster beside the window.

The thicknesses made most often are 5, 7 and 15 mm; the range also includes 16, 22 and 35 mm profiles and the adjustable VARIO trims.

Technolog

Hollow-chamber PVC trims - construction, thicknesses and choosing a profile

Plastic hollow-chamber trims are made of rigid PVC with a rectangular section. Air chambers run inside, stiffening the profile at low weight - which is why even a wide trim does not ripple over a long run. The thicknesses made most often are 5, 7 and 15 mm.

There are versions with a lip (a turned-up edge) and without. Trims with a lip work well around windows, because the lip hides small irregularities in the plaster where it meets the frame - so the edge does not have to be filled.

Most profiles are available with foam adhesive tape, which lets the trim be fitted without drilling and without wet work. Degrease the surface before bonding and leave expansion gaps at both ends of the run - PVC expands in summer and contracts in winter.

We wrap hollow-chamber trims with Renolit and Continental (Hornschuch) foils, the same ones used on window profiles, so the trim colour matches the joinery. The standard length is 6 metres.
