The chambered construction gives stiffness at low weight - the trim does not sag over a long run, yet still cuts with an ordinary saw. The version with a lip has a turned-up edge that hides small irregularities in the plaster beside the window.
The basic thicknesses are 7 mm (the most popular) and 15 mm. On top of that come the adjustable VARIO trims, 5 mm thick, and the 16 x 40 mm angled trim.

Hollow-chamber PVC trims - construction, thicknesses and choosing a profile
Plastic hollow-chamber trims are made of rigid PVC with a rectangular section. Air chambers run inside, stiffening the profile at low weight - which is why even a wide trim does not ripple over a long run. The basic thicknesses are 7 and 15 mm, and VARIO trims are 5 mm.
There are versions with a lip (a turned-up edge) and without. Trims with a lip work well around windows, because the lip hides small irregularities in the plaster where it meets the frame - so the edge does not have to be filled.
Most profiles are available with foam adhesive tape, which lets the trim be fitted without drilling and without wet work. Degrease the surface before bonding and leave expansion gaps at both ends of the run - PVC expands in summer and contracts in winter.
We wrap hollow-chamber trims with Continental (Hornschuch), Renolit, LG and Cova foils, the same ones used on window profiles, so the trim colour matches the joinery. The standard length is 6 metres.

With a lip or without
A trim with a lip has a turned edge that covers the junction with the plaster. It works well when finishing windows, because it conceals small irregularities in the masonry and lets you skip filling the edge. A trim without a lip is a flat chambered profile, used where the edge is meant to stay visible or where the trim meets another finishing component. Both versions are available with self-adhesive foam tape and without.
VARIO trims - one trim instead of several sizes
VARIO is a 5 mm hollow-chamber trim with a row of notches on the underside. The profile snaps along the chosen notch and the width is matched to the particular reveal, instead of picking a ready size from the catalogue. Four items cover the range from 20 to 120 mm: 1001 (20-50 mm), 1002 (40-80 mm), 1006 (50-100 mm) and 1003 (60-120 mm). Accessories complete the system: angle connector 1004, corner connector 1005, U-profile end 509 and the trim-to-window connector 8826 for a 3-7 mm groove.
Fitting and colours
Most profiles have self-adhesive foam tape, so fitting needs no drilling and no wet trades. Before bonding, the surface must be degreased, and expansion gaps must be left at both ends of the run - PVC expands in summer and contracts in winter. We wrap the trims in Renolit and Continental (Hornschuch) foils, the same ones used on window profiles, so the colour of the trim matches the joinery.
Collection at the weekend too
We hand goods over during the week, but the collection time is agreed individually - including on a Saturday and, if need be, a Sunday, arranged by phone beforehand. The option is used above all by customers living and working in Germany, who collect their material when they come back to Poland. Orders for weekend collection should be placed by Friday 12:00 at the latest. We ship throughout Poland.

The 8826 connector for a 3-7 mm groove is made for this. It takes any trim between 3 and 7 mm thick, VARIO profiles included.
A 15 mm trim with a lip that is not stuck on with tape but clipped onto mushroom-head screws fixed into the substrate. It can be taken off and put back, for example when the roller shutter is serviced.
