Profiles for cladding window and door reveals give a durable, tidy finish to the space around the joinery. They allow plasterboard to be fitted quickly and produce straight, stable reveal edges.
Their design allows window and door reveals to be formed accurately, the cladding dimensions to be kept, and perfectly straight finishing lines to be achieved. Using purpose-made profiles speeds up installation considerably, shortens the job and raises the quality of the finished reveal.
The profiles give the finishing elements a stable support, making the construction more resistant to knocks and everyday use. Cladding formed correctly around a window or door reduces the risk of cracks, distortion and other defects that can appear where different building materials meet.

Two cladding systems - which to choose?
The clip-in system is built on retaining profile item 3001, which snaps straight into the window frame profile. It needs no drilling into the joinery, so installation is quick and the frame’s weather seal is untouched. The cladding is closed off with cover profile item 4001 screwed to the wall. Instead of a board you can use a ready-made hollow-chamber profile, item 0175×10 or 0250×10.
The bracket system uses universal retaining profile item 3002, screwed to the frame. The cladding board is supported by brackets item 4012 with steel springs, which absorb irregularities in the wall and hold everything in one plane. The brackets are concealed by cover profile item 4003 (75 mm) or item 4004 (100 mm).
The choice comes down mainly to the frame profile and the state of the wall. Where the profile cannot be clipped into the frame, or the reveal is badly out of true, the bracket system works better. On a true wall with typical PVC joinery, the clip-in system is faster to fit.

Reveal cladding profiles - a quick finish without plastering
Cladding a reveal, that is finishing the surround of a window or door, traditionally means plastering, filling and painting. PVC system profiles let you do the same job dry: a retaining profile links the cladding to the joinery, a panel or hollow-chamber profile fills the depth of the reveal, and a cover profile closes the edge against the wall.
The solution is valued when replacing joinery in occupied buildings, where time matters and wet trades are unwelcome. A finished reveal takes about a quarter of an hour, with no dust and no waiting for plaster to dry. The surface of the profiles is smooth and white, so it usually needs no painting.
Rigid PVC absorbs no moisture and keeps its dimensions as temperature changes, so the cladding does not crack where it meets the masonry or the joinery. That is a common problem with traditional plastered reveals, where cracks appear after the first heating season.
Choosing a reveal cladding system to suit the window and the wall
Two complementary systems are available. The clip system is built around retaining profile art. 3001, which snaps into the section of the window frame - with no drilling and no screws in the joinery. The cladding is closed by cover profile art. 4001, 75 x 12 mm.
The bracket system uses universal retaining profile art. 3002, screwed to the frame, together with brackets art. 4012 with a steel spring. The brackets take up irregularities in the masonry, so the cladding panel stays in one plane even on a crooked reveal. The whole is covered by profile art. 4003 (75 mm) or art. 4004 (100 mm).
Instead of plasterboard you can use a ready hollow-chamber profile art. 0175x10 (175 x 10 mm) or art. 0250x10 (250 x 10 mm). The chambered construction gives rigidity at low weight, and the width is chosen to suit the depth of the reveal.
The choice of system depends mainly on the frame section and the state of the wall. With typical PVC joinery and true masonry the clip system is quicker; on an uneven reveal the bracket system works better.
Frequently asked questions

Cladding a reveal covers the junction between window and masonry, finishes the return and protects the edge from damage. System profiles allow it to be done dry, with no plastering or filling.

In the width of surface they cover. Profile art. 4003 is 75 mm, art. 4004 is 100 mm. The wider one is used where the cladding is deeper or where a larger irregularity at the wall has to be covered. Both come in 6 m lengths.
Bracket art. 4012 slides onto the cladding panel and is screwed to the wall. The steel spring presses the panel and takes up irregularities in the masonry, so the reveal cladding stays in one plane. The brackets are packed in 250s, and their spacing is matched to the stiffness of the panel.
Yes. Hollow-chamber profiles art. 0175x10 (175 x 10 mm) and art. 0250x10 (250 x 10 mm) slide straight into the retaining profile. They have a smooth white surface, so they need neither filling nor painting.
