Corner connectors - welding cleats for PVC door leaves
Eighteen sizes matched to steel profiles from 30 x 30 x 2 to 65 x 45 x 3 mm. Eight per leaf, welded together with the PVC profile.
Corner connectors, known in the workshops as welding cleats, reinforce the structure of a PVC door leaf. They slide into the steel profile, that profile is screwed into the PVC leaf profile, and the whole assembly is welded together.
The result is a rigid leaf that does not distort with the temperature swing between winter and summer - the commonest reason a door stops closing after a year.

How a welding cleat works and why it is used
Fitting takes three steps. The connector slides into the steel profile and is secured by partly drawing out the expanding wedge that locks the cleat at the end of the cut profile. The steel profile then goes into the PVC leaf profile and is screwed in place. Finally the whole assembly is welded together with the PVC profile.
Each leaf takes eight of them - two per corner.
The point of this construction is simple. PVC moves with temperature: it expands in summer and contracts in winter. A door leaf is large and heavy, so without reinforcement it eventually drops or twists and the door stops closing. A steel profile with welded cleats forms a rigid frame inside the leaf that keeps this in check.
Suitably small cleats are also used in balcony doors made from PVC profiles, where the distortion problem is the same, only the loads are lighter.

Choosing the size - 18 dimensions
The size is always chosen by the outside dimension of the steel profile, not by the PVC profile. It is given as width x height x wall thickness. We carry 18 sizes: from 30 x 30 x 2 mm to 65 x 45 x 3 mm, including intermediate items such as 43 x 40.5 x 2 or 55 x 45 x 2.5 mm - the range covers the usual door systems. If the profile dimension is not known, just measure the cut end with a caliper. The range also includes a tensioning tool for fitting, which speeds the work along with eight connectors per leaf.
Collection at the weekend too
We hand goods over during the week, but the collection time is agreed individually - including on a Saturday and, if need be, a Sunday, arranged by phone beforehand. The option is used above all by customers living and working in Germany. Orders for weekend collection should be placed by Friday 12:00 at the latest. We ship throughout Poland.
