Balcony door handles and shell handles
Shell handles screwed onto the PVC sash. Flat Slim-Line version 54 x 65 x 10 mm and a standard version. RAL colours, Renolit decors, fixed with two screws.
A balcony handle is fitted on the door sash so the door can be pushed to and pulled shut behind you - going out onto the balcony or coming back in - without having to ask anyone for help.
You grip it with your fingers in the recess along the bottom. That is why the handle does not need to stand proud of the sash: there just has to be room for fingers under the edge.
Slim-Line handle - the flat version
54 x 65 mm at 10 mm depth, fixed with two screws
Designed for the new generation of profiles and the Slim-Line drainage caps, so it fits modern joinery without extra packers. It is fixed with two screws on the vertical axis, hidden under the sliding cover part of the handle - from outside neither the heads nor the holes are visible.

Mounting face and finger recess
Two screw holes on the vertical axis, finger grip along the bottom
That matters practically, not just visually: covered screw heads do not corrode or collect water, and the handle sits on the outside of the door all year round.
You grip it through the recess along the bottom - you simply slide your fingers underneath. That is why the handle can be flat and needs no protruding bow.
Shell handle - standard version
A more pronounced profile with a separate base plate
Available in the same colour palette as the Slim-Line version, wood-effect decors included.

Why the handle has to be UV resistant
The balcony handle sits on the outside of the door, so it works in sun, rain and frost all year. Ordinary plastic in those conditions fades and turns brittle - first it loses colour, then it cracks when a screw is tightened.
That is why we make the handles from UV resistant plastic. It matters most on dark finishes and wood-effect decors, which heat up the most and where fading shows soonest.
The name Slim-line covers a whole family of flat components fitted to the sash. The Slim-line drainage caps come from the same family - if a cap from this series was used on the door, the handle will match it in shape and colour.
It can be fitted vertically or horizontally, depending on which is easier to reach on the particular door. The screws have countersunk heads that sit flush in their seats, so the sliding cover lies flat.

Balcony door handles - what they are for and where they go
A balcony handle is fitted to the door leaf so that the door can be pushed to and pulled shut behind you as you step onto the balcony or come back in. You grip it with your fingers in the recess at the bottom - which is why the handle needs no protruding bow and can be flat. The Slim-Line version measures 54 x 65 mm at a depth of only 10 mm, so it does not catch on curtains or on furniture standing by the door. The material is a UV-resistant plastic, because the part sits on the outside of the door all year round.
Fixed with two screws, invisible once fitted
On the leaf side the handle has two screw holes arranged on the vertical axis. The screws have a countersunk head and sit flush in their seats; the handle proper is then slid over them, covering the fixing. From outside neither heads nor holes are visible. That is not only a matter of looks: covered heads do not corrode and do not collect water. Fitting is possible vertically and horizontally, depending on which is the easier reach on the particular door.
Colours: 33 RAL shades and golden oak
As standard 33 colours from the RAL palette are available, and the painted version comes in the golden oak Renolit 2178001 decor. The most often chosen shades are white, grey, black, light brown, dark brown and golden oak. Other colours are made to special order. When ordering, it is best to quote the RAL number or the decor of the foil the joinery is wrapped in - the handle will then merge with the door rather than stand out against it.
Slim-Line or the standard version
Slim-Line is the flat variant - it stands only 10 mm off the leaf and is the least conspicuous with the door closed. The standard version has a more pronounced profile and a separate mounting base, which leaves more room for the fingers. It is often more comfortable on wide, heavier leaves and on doors used with gloves on. Both versions come in the same palette, wood-effect wraps included.
