Every PVC window frame has a hardware groove - a channel running around the frame that holds the keeps for the sash hardware. Where there are no keeps the groove stays open: it collects dust and spoils the look of the window. The cover fills it along its whole free length.
It is the simplest and cheapest finishing touch for PVC joinery that needs no installation work at all - including on windows that have been fitted for years.

What the hardware groove is for and why it is worth covering
The hardware groove is a factory channel in the PVC window frame. It holds the keeps that the sash hardware engages when the window is locked. The keeps take up only short sections - the rest of the groove around the frame stays empty.
An open groove collects dust, grit and moisture, and is hard to clean when washing the windows. The cover closes it along its whole free length: it limits the build-up of dirt and clearly improves the look of the frame, because the dark, broken line running around the window disappears.
On coloured joinery it matters even more. A cover in anthracite or golden oak blends into the frame instead of standing out as a white stripe. For unusual decors we make the cover to order in any colour.

A sash rebate cover fills the hardware groove in the frame of a PVC window and is made of soft PVC. The same product goes by the names dust seal, anti-dust seal, rebate seal, groove seal, hardware groove cover, hardware groove plug and frame rebate filler. It closes the empty stretch of groove between the hardware keeps: it limits the build-up of dust and grit, makes the windows easier to clean and tidies up the look of the frame.
A cover for the window frame - will it fit my window?
The cover is made to fit the standard hardware groove in PVC window frames, that is the rebate where the window maker fixes the keepers of the hardware. Both new windows and windows fitted many years ago have this groove, so the cover can be used whatever the age of the windows.

We keep five colours in stock: white, anthracite, golden oak, brown and black. Colour matters most on coloured and foil-wrapped windows - a cover in golden oak or anthracite blends in with the frame instead of standing out as a light strip running round the window. For other decors, walnut for example, we make the cover to order in any colour.
Fitting without tools and without removing the hardware
The cover is pressed into the free stretch of groove with a finger, run from one hardware keep to the next, and cut at the end with ordinary scissors. Nothing has to be unscrewed, glued or taken out. The profile is shaped so that it holds in the groove by itself while still pulling out by hand should a fitter need access to the hardware. Soft PVC takes bending at the corners and does not split when cut, which makes the product suitable for new joinery and for modernising windows in use for years.
Collection at the weekend too
We hand goods over during the week, but the collection time is agreed individually - including on a Saturday and, if need be, a Sunday, arranged by phone beforehand. The option is used above all by customers living and working in Germany, who collect their material when they come back to Poland. Orders for weekend collection should be placed by Friday 12:00 at the latest. We ship throughout Poland.
