Sash rebate cover - dust seal for PVC windows
A soft PVC filler for the hardware groove. Pressed in by hand, cut with ordinary scissors and removable at any time. Stock colours: white, anthracite, golden oak, brown and black.
Every PVC window frame has a hardware groove - a channel running around the frame that holds the keeps for the sash hardware. Where there are no keeps the groove stays open: it collects dust and spoils the look of the window. The cover fills it along its whole free length.
It is the simplest and cheapest finishing touch for PVC joinery that needs no installation work at all - including on windows that have been fitted for years.

Fitting - two minutes per window
No tools, no adhesive, no dismantling of the hardware
Nothing has to be unscrewed or glued. If a fitter later needs access to the hardware, the cover is pulled out by hand and pushed back afterwards.
The material is soft PVC, so the profile takes bending at the corners and does not crack when cut.

What the hardware groove is for and why it is worth covering
The hardware groove is a factory channel in the PVC window frame. It holds the keeps that the sash hardware engages when the window is locked. The keeps take up only short sections - the rest of the groove around the frame stays empty.
An open groove collects dust, grit and moisture, and is hard to clean when washing the windows. The cover closes it along its whole free length: it limits the build-up of dirt and clearly improves the look of the frame, because the dark, broken line running around the window disappears.
On coloured joinery it matters even more. A cover in anthracite or golden oak blends into the frame instead of standing out as a white stripe. For unusual decors we make the cover to order in any colour.
The product works both on new joinery, before handover to the client, and when upgrading windows that have been in use for years.
