PVC quadrant beads - convex and concave floor trims
White finishing trims in foamed PVC, in 3 m lengths. They cover the expansion gap between wall and floor and protect the wall from knocks.
A quadrant bead is the simplest way to finish where the floor meets the wall or the skirting. Foamed PVC is light and easy to work - it cuts with a knife or an ordinary wood saw, does not crack on a mitre and absorbs no moisture, so it also suits kitchens and bathrooms.
We offer two profiles: convex, with the classic quarter-circle curve, and concave, with an inward curve and a more pronounced shape.

The 14 x 14 mm size is enough to cover the usual expansion gap with laminate and boards. The trim is fixed with construction adhesive or silicone.

Where quadrant beads are used and how to fit them
A quadrant bead covers the expansion gap left when laying laminate, boards and tiles. The gap is necessary because a floor moves with moisture and temperature - but it looks poor and collects dirt, so it has to be covered.
The second typical use is protecting the wall. The trim takes the knocks from a mop, a vacuum cleaner and furniture, so the plaster at floor level stays clean and unchipped.
The material is foamed PVC: lighter than rigid PVC and easier to work. It is cut with a knife or a fine-toothed saw, and corners are made with a 45 degree mitre. PVC absorbs no moisture, so quadrant beads also suit wet rooms where a timber trim would swell.
Fixing is with construction adhesive or silicone, no nails or plugs. On longer runs leave a little play at the ends - PVC, like any plastic, moves with temperature.

Why foamed PVC rather than timber
Foamed PVC is lighter than rigid PVC and far easier to work - the trim cuts with a knife or a fine-toothed saw and does not split when the corners are mitred at 45 degrees. More important, it absorbs no moisture: it does not swell or distort in a kitchen, a bathroom or a room where the floor is washed often. A timber trim in such places moves in time and pulls away from the wall.
Fitting and working out the quantity
A quadrant bead is fixed with construction adhesive or silicone, no nails or plugs - so there is no drilling into a freshly finished wall. On longer runs leave a little play at the ends, because PVC, like any plastic, moves with temperature. The simplest way to work out the quantity: the perimeter of the room less the door widths, plus an allowance for cutting the corners.
Collection at the weekend too
We hand goods over during the week, but the collection time is agreed individually - including on a Saturday and, if need be, a Sunday, arranged by phone beforehand. The option is used above all by customers living and working in Germany, who collect their material when they come back to Poland. Orders for weekend collection should be placed by Friday 12:00 at the latest. We ship throughout Poland.
