The glazing bars are packed in 5-meter lengths and are available with black, grey RAL 7001, or RAL 7035 gaskets.
Self-adhesive glazing bars for PVC windows are made of rigid PVC.For white windows in colors close to RAL 9016, glazing bars are also produced in the same shade. It is also possible to manufacture through-colored bars in other tones, such as cream white RAL 9001.Window glazing bars are equipped with self-adhesive foam tape, serve a decorative purpose, and are used to divide the windowpane. In this way, they imitate the appearance of a divided window. In places where glazing bars are applied to the glass, aluminum spacer frames should be installed between the panes. These two elements — the glazing bars and the spacer frames — together form what is known as Viennese glazing bars. The use of aluminum frames between the panes facilitates proper adhesion of the glazing bars, as the frame supports the glass pane. This prevents the glass from flexing during the application (pressing) of the self-adhesive bar onto the surface. The most commonly produced self-adhesive glazing bars have a thickness of 8 mm, 10 mm, or 13 mm, and a width of 25 mm, 45 mm, or 75 mm. The bars are co-extruded with soft PVC gaskets in various colors. The most common gasket colors are RAL 7035 light grey, RAL 7001 grey, and black.Glazing bars are laminated with Renolit, Hornschuch, Cova, or LG foils, just like window profiles.Glazing bars should be stored indoors, never outside.During the installation of glazing bars, appropriate conditions must be met to ensure proper adhesion to the glass.
– Glazing bars and glass should be at the same temperature, which means that windows and bars must be stored indoors for at least 24 hours prior to installation. – Before installation, the bars should be cut to the correct length and angle to match the window profile. – PVC glazing bars expand in warm temperatures (summer) and shrink in cold (winter). Therefore, equal expansion gaps must be left at both ends of the bars during installation. – It is best to install the bars at temperatures above +18°C. – In winter, windows/glass should not be brought indoors right before installation, as condensation may form on the surface. – In summer, windows/glass brought from outside may have a different temperature than the bars, which should always be stored indoors. – The surface of the glass where the bar is to be applied must be degreased, for example with isopropyl alcohol or acetone, using a clean cloth or soft lint-free paper towel. – The protective film on the adhesive tape should be gradually removed during application. – Full adhesive curing occurs after 24 hours, so the windows should remain indoors for this duration.
