Currently, window muntin bars, PVC trim strips for window finishing, PVC angle profiles for window and door installation, foldable PVC angles, chambered PVC strips, and PVC profiles in various cross-sections (shapes) are the main products offered by Technolog – Accessories for Windows and Doors.An important addition to our product range are decorative window elements (in German: Zierelemente), sometimes referred to as mouldings or trim.Long decorative elements are glued onto horizontal mullions (transoms) and vertical mullions. Decorative heads (also known as capitals, or Kapitelle in German) are attached to the vertical mullions.PVC strips of various thicknesses, ranging from 1 mm to 15 mm, as well as fixed and adjustable PVC corner profiles, are used to cover gaps between windows and walls. These PVC strips come with 1 mm thick double-sided adhesive tape already attached. This tape makes it easy to apply the PVC strips to windows, both indoors and outdoors. Before applying the PVC strip, it is important to degrease the window frame. The strip should be shorter than the height or width of the frame. PVC strips expand in high temperatures during the summer and contract in low temperatures during the winter. Therefore, expansion gaps should be left at both ends of the strip. Installation experience has shown that the strips should be cut at a right angle.
PVC strips are also available in colored versions, meaning they are laminated with wood-like decorative films. The most popular films on the Polish market are produced by companies such as Renolit, Hornschuch, Cova, and LG. The same films used for laminating window profiles are also used for laminating PVC strips and PVC glazing bars.PVC glazing bars for windows are used to create the appearance of windowpane divisions. They imitate the traditional division of a window. PVC glazing bars are applied to both sides of the glass to create the impression of separated panes. To enhance this effect, aluminum spacer bars are often installed between the glass panes at the locations where the glazing bars are attached, further reinforcing the visual impression of a divided window. Like PVC strips, PVC glazing bars are also subject to temperature fluctuations, expanding in summer and contracting in winter. Therefore, expansion gaps must be left during installation to allow the PVC glazing bars to expand freely. PVC glazing bars are also laminated with the same decorative films from companies such as Renolit, Cova, Hornschuch, and LG, which are used for window profiles and mounting strips. Before applying the glazing bar to the glass, it is essential to degrease the surface using, for example, isopropyl alcohol or acetone.
